The Year in Review. Our analysis on issues that have affected us in recent times.
www.cubasegundomilenio.com ‘s Year in Review.
On our two main political parties (as we headed toward the 2012 elections):
Arrogance, disconnect, a sense of supremacy and superiority over the ignorant and misinformed masses. The desire to control and submit the citizens and non-citizens of a once great nation to the malice of their will. That is one side of the proverbial coin. On the other side you have the Republican Party.
Are there any solutions?
Perhaps when every inhabitant of this land wakes up on a given morning and realizes that the path to reform begins with his or her selfless actions and sacrifices, is that we may have a shot at some kind of recovery. Of course, it is not looking good at all. Have you taken a good look around lately?
On the first Obama versus Romney Debate (written the night before):
Debating a decadent society.
When Mitt Romney stands behind the podium this coming Wednesday, he will not be debating just Barrack Obama. His task is much more monumental and possibly futile. He will be debating a society in decay.
Aside from the eloquence, or the lack thereof, that can possibly be exhibited by the Republican candidate in contrast with the emphatic and acoustic, highly rhetorical and redundant delivery by the President, there will be other elements with a lot more bearing on the outcome of this debate.
The election, therefore, should remain the focus of everyone’s attention. No other American presidential election has ever had the impact that this one will have not just on the future of the United States, but on the future of the entire world.
As for the debate, it must take place as part of American politics and this time around it may even add to the array of fabricated reality entertainment to which our culture has become regrettably addicted, but the victors have already been declared beforehand: Obama and a decadent society.
On Obama’s reelection (written the morning after):
Crossing the Threshold of Communism.
It took the United States of America only two hundred and thirty two years to show the world the official eradication of inequality by electing the first socialist president. It has taken just another four years for the United States of America to showcase one the biggest sociological transformations in the history of humanity by reelecting its forty fourth president and crossing the threshold of communism.
On November 6, 2012 Barack Hussein Obama was granted -by the grace of an utterly confused democracy- his second term as President of the United States. This day will mark in history the definitive initiation of one of the biggest societal collapses that the world has ever seen.
Despite an opposing Congress, we as a nation and the world will soon commence to witness the manifestation of a government by decree and what will make this unprecedented phenomenon more remarkable is that it will be supported by the majority of the masses.
The private sector economy will gradually be overtaken by the public sector control and we will see businesses and investors fleeing the US economy in hordes. What will make this unprecedented phenomenon more remarkable is that, initially, it will be looked upon by the ignorant masses with an enormous degree of disdain.
The so called “minority” –which has not been so for quite some time- will openly exercise its unmerciful tyranny, which will make the traditional tyranny of the powerful and the opulent seem pious and benevolent. Individuals with no relevance in any constructive and/or productive aspect of society will exhibit their empowerment in ways that will dwarf the arrogance of former capitalist elites. What will make this unprecedented phenomenon more remarkable is that the populist will watch joyfully and grin at the funeral of a once great society.
Difficult times lie ahead for the American experience; moments of unimaginable transformation.
The process of deterioration will take time, possibly a few generations. Not even the incompetence of socialism and its destructive communist mutation can immediately reduce or nullify the grandness of the wealth accumulated by two centuries of formidable capitalism and self-reliance. Yet, only the incoherent philosophy of the left can, over a certain period of time, annihilate any form of greatness, whether that is moral, sociological or material in nature.
The course of the nation will be basically dictated by three generators of detriment over the next several generations of Americans. Ideology, dependency and syndicalism will barely control the reigns of the unbridled beast until it reaches the inevitable abyss. They will dismount the animal at the precise moment of irreversible despair and will turn their heads back in perplexity and astonishment only to find the ruins of their misdeeds.
On the Benghazi incident (written the morning after):
And suddenly spring became winter.
On the eleventh anniversary of the atrocities of 9/11/2001 our symbolic soil has once again been attacked. We woke up this morning to the news of US Consulates in Egypt and Libya being the targets of violent protests by radical Muslim extremists, resulting in the death of the US ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens and several staffers.
In the days ahead, expectedly, the US and world media will try to make sense and even justify these events as retaliation for certain offensive internet activity against the history and principle of the Islamic faith. In an election year for the United States, we will most likely see an effort by the Obama administration to defer the enormous significance of these acts as well as harsh criticism from the Republican Party about the obvious mishandling of the issues by the US government.
The fact of the matter is that what may have started as a noble endeavor to depose of traditional tyrants in different parts of the volatile Middle East -romantically labeled as the Arab Spring- has essentially opened up the doors for the return of hardcore Islamic radicalism to re-enter and take control of the scene.
On a New Era of Deceit:
The historical immunity with which the liberal factions of our society have been gratified by a progressively decadent populist may have reached an apex under the administration of Barack Hussein Obama. The levels of condescendence and forgiveness exhibited by the adoring masses have, during his presidency, exceeded the traditional parameters of the privileges usually rendered to leftist cosmological visions. His “superiors”, himself and his subordinates have, therefore, raised the bar to unimaginable levels of impunity; affirming and accommodating themselves at the steering wheel of the vehicle bound for the complete transformation of the United States of America and subsequently the entire world.
President Obama, the maligned product of a societal deterioration that had been percolating for several decades, has been seen and heard for the past five years constantly navigating a sea of contradictions, inconsistencies and lies -camouflaged by his socialist acoustic rhetoric.
The mystifying complicity of an indulgent, uniformed society -along with the main stream media- who allow the acts and rhetoric of their liberal leaders to go totally unchallenged, while at times admiring and glorifying them, has emboldened a new legion of “licensed American traitors” who feel they can simply get away with their anti-American agendas in search for the ultimate demise of a once great nation. A dooming legacy of treason and guaranteed liberal exculpation has started to take form.
On the crisis in the Arab world and the USA’s image:
This new, complex and very profound level of international crisis finds a weakened and likely fragile American material and emotional landscape, in times when uncontrolled liberalism has become the norm in our society. The historical strong image of the United States in the eyes of the rest of the world has transformed into a meek socialist vision of a universe with unrealistic idyllic overtones. The general reality, local and global, and specifically the reality of an Arab world in disarray spell serious troubles and misery for the entire universe in the years to come. The horrific possibility of World War III is no longer just a Cold War warning sign. It may materialize rather soon into an apocalyptic reality.
Hope of reversing the course of current events is faint at best, when our Commander in Chief and alleged leader of the free world insists and persists in negating and/or distorting the gravity of the various situations at home and abroad. Even in moments when he may have seemed ultimately assertive, his timing has been inaccurate and even detrimental. In the mystifying depths of his mind and soul, he probably has to deal on daily basis with other demons and conflicts that override the urgency faced by humanity. After all, he himself may very well be a dilemma between east and west, between religious convictions and between cosmological ideals.
As the entire world moves into a period of possibly undecipherable and insurmountable scenarios, his election and reelection may ultimately be confirmed as two of the most serious One Thousand and One mistakes ever made by any society in the history of mankind.
On the End of Conservatism and Obamacare:
Early this year I wrote an article entitled “The Anticipated Death of Conservatism”, where I admitted to have been wrong about the time when such a loss would actually take place. I said that I had been anticipating it for a long time, but did not think that it would happen so soon. Many elements had to be in place for this to occur and my take was that some still remained distant from the American landscape.
Well, today I would like to elaborate a bit further on my thoughts and bring to you an official announcement: America can start preparing for the burial of conservatism and there will be no resurrection, at least for various generations.
Amazing and inexplicable events occur in the galaxies which essentially respond to some specific alignments of celestial bodies and other mysterious factors which may come to fruition every hundreds or thousands of years. Here on earth, over the last several decades, strange forces and manifestations of corrupt tendencies deriving from the imperfect nature of the human composition gradually continued to align, bringing us to the present scenario.
The leading nations of the world afflicted by the new epidemic find themselves as the battlefield of two opposing cosmological visions: the traditional vision of the right which so well adheres to the aspiring nature of man and the newer, quite provocative, vision of the left which lures the human mind to idleness and so strongly contradicts man’s inborn idiosyncrasy. For decades it was a proverbial tug a war, with one faction dominating the field for a period of time and the other taking the upper hand at others. The proposition of a life of indulgence in exchange for very little effort started, eventually, to gain over the philosophy of self-sufficiency; for it would be extremely difficult to compete against the notion of gratification with minimum or no reciprocation.
Society crossed the threshold of decadence when more than half of its members ultimately succumbed to the luring of liberalism and complacency. The intense proliferation of socialist agendas would contribute to the ingredients required to derail any remaining traditional sentiment of civility and patriotism. Last, the arrival, election and reelection of the leader who epitomized the many years of societal deterioration would complete the alignment that would signal it was time for the nullification of conservatism.
The task at hand is monumental and comes at a time when the masses are already integrated by at least two generations of mostly unproductive, uniformed, legal and illegal inhabitants of the land. The many years of subtle socialist indoctrination has paid off well for the left in the United States; as they have succeeded in molding the public to not just accept, but to procure the alms, which in the name of equality and social justice, are handed down without notion or awareness about their origin. It is precisely the exclusive capability of the socialist and communist ideologies of simply ignoring the need of replenishment of capital that incapacitates societies and truncates the will of the people. Under such ideologies wealth is used and misused until is no more. The clearest and most recent example of such anomaly is the ill effects of blatant redistribution of wealth, ironically leading to greater debt and less responsibility on the part of the citizenry.
As we prepare for the official burial of conservatism, it may very well be worth listening to the last cries of voices like Senator Ted Cruz, as self-serving and political as the malicious left and the confused right may want to portrait his filibustering and constant opposition to the funding of the legislature astutely and confusingly turned into law, known as Obamacare. The institution of such mandate would forever change the course of the nation and accelerate the demise of one of the greatest societies in history. While some of us impatiently wait for a solution to the most recent government partial shutdown crisis and a larger majority simply continues to ignore the calamitous state of the nation, the 21 hour marathon by the young Senator from Texas seemed more like a eulogy than an act of political obstructionism.
On the Extinction of our best natural resource: morality:
It became the forbidden concept; the illicit word not to be uttered -at least not in public by public officials- in any direct fashion. Politicians on both sides of the aisle started to correlate the use of this noun with the enormous risk of losing votes, as they astutely started to become aware that our society was one in decay. Condescendence with the indulging masses, capitulation on traditional principles of righteousness and essentially the fueling of the combustible new elements of society became the norm for our leaders, as their priorities narrowed forever so destructively.
Accusations of immorality and deviation from principle would be strictly limited to the mutual attacks by the political factions; never allowing themselves to call on the citizenry about its selfishness, uncontrolled mentality of dependency and lack of civility. Indifference and corruption at one end and apathy and disdain at the other would feed off each other, replicating the colossal demises of former great civilizations. The improper would become adequate, acceptable and often glorified, while honorability and respect would be mocked by at least the necessary majority required to determine the course of the nation -as per democratic precepts. The intangible natural resources of a once great country were rapidly extinguishing; values such as order, respectful conduct and mutual -as well as collective- consideration were fleeing the American landscape.
In the name of social justice and fairness, noble, yet equivocated societal guidelines were introduced and rapidly abused, such as Affirmative Action and its generalized catastrophic mutation into Political Correctness. This subsequently would lead to the irrevocable swinging of the pendulum to a realm where the truthful affirmation of action and civil and political correction would simply be no more. The former unjust oppression of some became the yoke of all. The unfair tyranny of the few over many started to pale in comparison to the new tyranny of the many over the few. The once scattered immoral aspects of society were replaced by a new habitual trend of almost unanimous immorality, masterfully disguised as modernism and liberalism.
History has proved, time and again, that a nation may suffer the scarcity and even the extinction of its natural resources -resulting from climatic changes or natural and manmade disasters- and yet recover overtime if its people remain tenacious and principled. But no society has ever survived, or will ever, the seizing of its values and ethics, for they are indeed the engine and the head of the structure. Once these precious metaphysical resources become extinct, it is just a matter of time before the decapitated body of society would collapse mortally to the ground.
